Overview

FAUN premiered at Charleston Festival in May 2024 as an ambitious new dance and music production inspired by the radical spirit of Vaslav Nijinsky and the Ballets Russes. Reimagining The Rite of Spring and Prélude à laprès-midi dun faune for a contemporary audience, the project brought together choreography by Russell Maliphant, performance by Royal Ballet Principal Reece Clarke, live two-piano performance by Melvyn Tan and Churen Li, and bespoke costumes by Kim Jones for Dior Men. The result was a distinctive live work that combined contemporary dance, live music and fashion within a single theatrical experience.

What We Did

We produced the project and its premiere collaboration for Charleston Festival, overseeing the development of the creative concept and bringing together artists across dance, music and fashion. Our role included shaping the overall production framework, coordinating creative partners and collaborators, managing logistics and timelines, and overseeing the delivery of the live performance. Particular focus was placed on building a genuine dialogue between disciplines, creating a multidisciplinary production that combined artistic ambition with a strong and clearly defined live identity.
